We caught Mdou Moctar blowing minds with their unique brand of desert-rock at End of the Road Festival back in 2017. Since then, their vibrant sound has become synonymous with good times for us and their latest single 'Chismiten' is no exception. Arriving alongside the equally excellent news that the band have now signed a deal with respected indie label Matador Records, we're hoping its the beginning of more exciting things from the group. Opening with a face-melting guitar solo, propulsive drums provide pace as the instrumentation subsides to allow the groups rich call and response vocals to shine in the verses, before letting loose for the adrenaline-fuelled remainder of the track. Dynamic throughout, 'Chismiten' is just what we needed to brighten our day. -Holly Mullineaux
